Respected Madam/Sir,
Our nation is observing the National Cancer Awareness Day on November 7th. This day highlights the significance of increased awareness on Cancer Prevention and Early Detection for the general public. In India, nearly 11 Lakhs new cancer cases are being reported every year. Unfortunately,two-thirds of cancer cases are diagnosed at an advanced stage reducing patients’ chances of survival.
Our National Cancer Control Program was initiated in 1975 to provide cancer treatment facilities and awareness building.Observing National Cancer Awareness Day is more about generating awareness on early detection and to avoid cancer-causing lifestyles.
On this day we are planning to create awareness through a Poster, Slogan and awareness Video making Contest which we feel will help in creating effective mass awareness to prevent cancer as well as motivate Cancer Patients, Survivors, Care givers, Doctors and other health service professionals to express solidarity and support in their fight with cancer and one day to make ours, a cancer free nation.
